Resort Look at the Best

 Givenchy Resort 2012.

Givenchy's mysterious purple vines on a sheer dress are sensual and sexy.

Retro futuristic take on florals, with a sporty visor. Witty Givenchy.

Celine

Cute fitted floral jacket and waistcoat with stylish white tux pants, and a Celine tee is the pinnacle of cool.

It's a statement floral look, except not the floaty girly. It's strong, tailored and smart.

Tux and gloves, All Hail Phoebe Philo.

Vionnet

Smart, colour block tunic with heaps of jewelery.

Giambattista Valli

Sixties silhouette with subtle stripes.

Bold and beautiful in purple and orange.

J. Mendel

Streamlined pleats and leather with a sporty twist.

Stella McCartney

Garden fun with playful prints.

Huddersfield Fashion Graduate Show - Nicola Tracey

Huddersfield Fashion Graduate Show was shown at Lawrence Batley Theatre in Huddersfield.
Some collections were surprisingly artistic and there is an undeniable amount of talent.
However I myself saw some collections seem rather costume orientated.

For my second year fashion writing I will be writing about Nicola Tracey whose collection was beautiful.
Nicola was inspired by love letters sent between her Grandma and Grandad during the 1940s.

She then looked at her Grandma's life throughout the 40's and took inspiration from this era.
Personally I myself love the 40's.
She also looked at Pearl Harbour and a 1940's event for inspiration.

I love her collection with pleated skirts and my favourite pieces are the floral jacket and the scalloped hem cardigan with a pussy-bow tie. Every item is adorable and you can tell Nicola is a fan of Miu Miu and Chloe. Her collection is ladylike and romantic.
The whole collection was just perfectly made, fitted and each piece flowed with class.
Definitely a young designer to look out for in the future.

Ironically  Miuccia Prada showed her A/W collection for Miu Miu today.
She described the collection as;
"sweet, charming, feminine, nice — and always thinking of the important woman."
Resulting in a beautiful '40s-inspired collection.

Led esque

New HTC phone. Messing around. But they look rather cute.
 Reminds me of Tracey Emins led light messages.

Katy Perry's New Video: Last Friday Night

Okay so it's not necessarily a fashion post.
 However the nod to eighties neon was bold with bodycon.
Plus it's a great fun video.

Emma Roberts Look: Oversized blazer.
Shoes: Brian Atwood.

Elle Fanning Marie Claire July Issue

This stunning thirteen year old adores dressing up.

"I love clothes. I always look at runway shows online and know all of the models. I think it was passed down to my sister and me from our mom. She always loved dressing us when we were little."

"I met Beyoncé! I've loved her forever. She's so beautiful. And Alexa Chung! She is my style icon." Chung and Fanning share a love for all things vintage. Her latest obsession? An orange letterman jacket bought on a surprise birthday thrift-store shopping trip to San Francisco."

Emma Stone For US ELLE Magazine July 2011

Photographed by Carter Smith.
 I adore this shoot; it's monochrome and 60s.

Tom Ford Fall Winter 2011-2012 Womenswear collection.

The Tom Ford Fall Winter 2011 -2012 Womenswear collection is astounding.
Extremely ladylike, flecks of zebra prints and velvet, peplum skirts, big fierce collars.
It's all very luxurious and sophisticated.

Beyonce and Christina Aguilera's covers for W magazine July 2011

Aguilera looks angelic, i LOVE the crimped candyfloss hair.

Beyonce is fierce as always;
 although i prefer her in Dazed & Confused Cover July 2011 Issue.
She looks AMAZING!

It's All About New Faces,

Tobey Maguire is the new face of Prada.

Photographed by David Sims in New York.

Smoldering and  Smooth is the former - spiderman.

Hailee Steinfeld is the new face of Miu Miu.

 The fourteen year old is the new face of Miu Miu's next campaign.

Miuccia Prada is infamous for picking kooky girls to front her campaign from Kirsten Dunst to Vanessa Paradis, she looks for a natural beauty, so its no surprise Hailee Steinfeld although young she is driven and a perfect advocate for the campaign.

Angelina Jolie is the new face of Louis Vuitton.

Angelina Jolie will be the new face of Vuitton's latest 'Core Values' campaign.

Previous 'faces' of the campaign include Sofia Coppola and her father Francis Ford Coppola, Rolling Stone Keith Richards, and former President of the Soviet Union, and Nobel Peace Prize winner, Mikhail Gorbachev, in the back of a limo passing the remaining part of the Berlin Wall.

The campaign is expected to run for at least 18 months and will also feature a video interview with Jolie filmed on location later in the month.

High Street Slump

Seeing as we're spending 33% less on clothes and shoes it's no surprise the High Street is suffering with a decline of customers.

Jane Norman and New Look are at the top of the stores in jeopardy. With certain ranges being to expensive over priced clothes.

Jane Norman up for sale.

Chloe Sevigny's Opening Ceremony Resort 2012

Chloe Sevigny has created a gorgeous collection with lots of laser-cut leather eyelet minidresses;
cute and kitsch to sexy and strong.

My favourite is a white minidress which i adore; with its tiered shoulder detail;
with the  scalloped hem are so delicate, yet bold.

Chlo Sevigny made a point of using a range of models such as;
Jenny Shimizu, Christina Kruse, and Danielle Zinaich.
She said "I didn't want unattainable beauty."
The collection was delicate and sensual with shoulders being bared and legs out.

 The collection is expected to hit stores in November.
